Our Target Audience
Here is a mindmap of our own target audience. This will help us when it comes to making our own film opening because it gives us an audience to aim at.
Audience theory: Uses and Gratification Theory (UGT) - Bulmer and Katz
Our film will use the UGT by meeting the needs of audience members that need a source of action and humour. The characters in the film can also be identified with by the audience by being realistic and having admirable characteristics such as a good sense of humour, bravery, strength, etc. The film would also simultaneously educate and entertain the audience by teaching them some things about the event of WW2 (Though only a small part of the film would be based on fact) while also making it funny and suspenseful. The film would also serve as a way for the audience to talk to other people about the film and it's topics, helping the audience fulfil their social needs as well.
