Some of the most popular films in the mockumentary genre include Borat (2006), The Blair Witch Project (1999) and Waiting for Guffman (1996). Waiting for Guffman had a box office profit of $2.8 million and The Blair Witch Project had a box office profit of $248.6 million, but Borat had a box office profit of $261.6 million, showing that comedy mockumentaries are more popular than other genres of mockumentary, though horror/thriller mockumentaires are also quite popular. We think that having an action/comedy themed mockumentary will make our film more popular as it will be a mix of the 2 most popular mockumentary genres.
